meet and greet

it's safe to say if you have received a card from me in the past two years, i picked it up at greenwich letterpress in my hood.  what the sweet lil shop lacks in size, it makes up for in witty charm, originality, and inspiration. 

bonnie tsang so beautifully captures the essence of what is easily my most favorite shop in new york.

i can't get enough of their greeting cards.  in particular, i heart these.

the paris market

don't be fooled.  this market is not located in THE paris. but in "gaw-gia" - as in the great state of georgia and imagine hearing that in my dear friend, lorrie's best southern drawl.

a few months back, she visited savannah with her parents and shared this sweet lil story with me - "while there, we strolled down broughton street which is the town’s “main street” for shopping. i came across the most femininely fantastic store called the paris market. think of all the pretty, vintage, french-inspired pieces found in anthropologie located in one spot...aaand, it also has an old-fashioned candy/creamery counter. i instantly felt it was a YOU store."

oh and lor, you are so right. i'm not so sure i'm headed to the peach state anytime soon...but in the meantime, just had to share my favorite trinkets.

not sure if you're in the market for business cards, but i stumbled across these little gems. nothing says social grace like your very own calling card.

stamp of approval

i get way too many catalogs.  finally, when i can't take it anymore i tackle the huge stack and start thumbing through them all. i rip out pages for ideas for cotton top court, my dreamhouse someday, outfit inspiration, gifts for the holidays...you get the idea.

i came across this tonight.  yeah, it's $40 but think of all the uses you could get out of it. perfectly personalized for you or a lucky friend. it's just the right stamp of approval to make average stationary your very own.

just so many options, lovies.

never too early

it's might be bit early but i'm feeling rather jolly today.

too soon to be thinking about christmas cards? i think not. rather, i believe it is completely normal if christmas is on your mind 365 days a year.

big thanks. literally.

a few months back, i sat down with katie brown, eager to gain a little insight into her lifestyle/cooking/decorating/nesting empire. oh and did i. i met katie at her newly renovated brownstone in brooklyn and was instantly welcomed. she shared her story of how she, her brand, and her product line were launched. within minutes of our meet and greet, it was clear that she has limitless surges of energy and her infinite creativity knows no bounds. but that's not what this post is about.

after i met with katie, i realized i had to think of out of the box and get a thank you note over to in a jiffy. i remembered jordan ferney of oh happy day making her husband a supersized valentine back in february. and that's where my idea was spawned...

start with a piece of notebook paper...and write your note

take your 8.5x11" piece of notebook paper to kinko's and supersize it. i think mine ended up being a little over 2x3'.

grab some cutesy ribbon and make a cutesy tag

roll up - poster style - and tie on cutesy note-adorned cutesy ribbon.

place in mailing tube and off to the post office you go.

my only qualm about jordan's version of the project - she told me it would only cost $4 to have it blown up...try $20 plus. but i think it was because the printer likely ripped me off on way-to-fancy poster paper and because i had color in my note. so go black and white....same effect for less pennies.

whoever gets your massive memo will just love it...promise.
